Chkdsk or " check disk " is a software program which helps to scan and report on the integrity as well as behavior of the computer hard drive. That is, it will locate and correct the errors in the file system on your hard disk to fix problems including: computer shutdown improperly, power failure, accidental deletion etc. However, I always received emails from my customers telling that they will come cross kinds of Chkdsk issues when using the computer, for example, when trying to run it, an error message pops up and say “chkdsk is scheduled on next reboot”, but same problem occur at the next boot. In my article here, let’s learn together how to fix Chkdsk problems easily.

If the Chkdsk error on your computer is reported from bad volumes as well as partitions of the hard drive, it is recommended that you can make sure that your hard disk is running well. That is, when this application is running then it requires exclusive access to hard drive. So do remember not to access the hard drive when this tool is running. By the way, to always ensure the proper and long-time running of your hard disk, it is recommended that you can regularly defragment your hard disk by running the Windows built-in Disk Defragmenter on a scheduled time.

If you are receiving "check disk" error message or if it is not responding to your action, then problems like blue screen of death error, system crash, computer freezing up, etc will come on the neck of another. In this case, do remember to run a completely registry scan to make sure that your Windows registry is clean as the main task of check disk is to correct the incorrect registry settings. Windows registry is used to stored settings of the computer and all programs installed in order to make the computer run smoothly all the time, so when the Chkdsk cannot fix them according to the Chkdsk error, it is better that you should fix the registry errors by yourself. In case you don't have enough technical knowledge to do the job then you should avoid making use of manual technique to repair the incorrect registry entries.

For those users who are not having enough knowledge, it is risky to correct the registry entries by themselves. If this is the case for you, you can fix chkdsk error by using automated fix tool as it helps to troubleshoot and fix incorrect registry entries safely.
